Calavera en Movimiento - Calavera-Shaped Canvas Panel

Calavera Verde is inspired by experimenting with bold outlining and movement-based design. Instead of using multiple shaded outlines, I chose a single black outline throughout the composition, adding flowing lines that create energy and motion within the calavera. During this process, I was reminded of the expressive, movement-filled style of Keith Haring, which influenced my understanding of this piece after it was completed.

While painting, I stepped outside my usual bright color outlining and embraced black as a strong contrast. That decision opened a new direction in my work and led to further pieces that explore similar bold outlining techniques.

Calavera Verde is created with love for Día de los Muertos, a celebration that honors life beyond a single moment in time. It is a reminder that our loved ones live on through memory and that life should be fully embraced every day. Por que vida solo hay una (because you only have one life). Through every experience, we are encouraged to keep living with color and intention, vivir una vida de colores (live a life full of color).
